Friendship bracelets went from summer camp to stadium tours, and now everyone wants a stack.
The good news: you need one bead kit and an afternoon. HGTV's favorite kits cover every style, from flat clay beads with real clasps to pony beads and dainty seed beads, and they all come with letter beads for names, lyrics and inside jokes. Running low on vowels? A letter-only box fixes that. Prefer the woven kind? There's a lap loom with precut threads. Ready for clasps, wire and pliers? BestReviews' jewelry-making kits have the findings. Each card shows the drawback the reviewers called out, when they named one. Make extras, because someone will ask to trade.
Who this is not for. Skip this if you want a one-of-a-kind keepsake bracelet in a single color; the Handmade Gifts list has the eye-color bracelet with matched glass beads.

Clay beads are flat discs that stack into a sleek, modern look. Pony beads are rounder and chunkier. HGTV calls the Gionlion clay kit the one for more advanced designs, with lobster closures.
Stretchy cord for slip-on bracelets, or wire, clasps and pliers for closures. The Dowsabel kit comes with elastic string, and the jewelry-making kits add wire, clasps and tools.
Yes. A lap loom like the Choose Friendship maker holds the threads for you. BestReviews notes the strings can slip out of their slots, so keep them snug as you go.
