Advent calendars aren't just for kids anymore, and the good ones sell out before December even starts.
Every pick here is a 2026 edition or on a 2026 list. Start with a snack or drink calendar, because a tiny treat every morning is the whole point: Walker's shortbread, Bonne Maman mini jams, tea, coffee or a can of Red Bull for finals week. If you'd rather build than snack, a LEGO calendar gives you a mini build a day, and puzzle calendars hide a short jigsaw behind each box. The snack and drink picks carry Shop TODAY's Editor Loved and editor's pick labels, the licorice calendar was tried by Reviewed's editors, and the LEGO and puzzle picks come from Shop TODAY's and Reviewed's 2026 roundups. Each card shows what the editors said and any drawback they called out.
Who this is not for. Skip this if you want small gifts to stuff a stocking rather than a 12- or 24-day countdown; Stocking Stuffers fits that better.
Tell me what you can spend. I pick a tier for every item, essentials first, and show what is left. The first amount covers everything you need at the cheapest tier.

Before December 1, and earlier is better. Shop TODAY's editors say some calendars, like the In Good Taste wine calendar, sell out every year.
Food and drink calendars are the easy win. Shop TODAY's editors love the Walker's Shortbread and Tea Forte Winter Chalet calendars, and Bonne Maman's mini-jam calendar is an editor favorite.
Yes. The Tea Forte Winter Chalet calendar and the Michael Storrings puzzle calendar are 12 days, which is nice if you want a shorter countdown.
