how we make money
The short version: when you buy something through some of our links, the store pays us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
amazon
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon pays a small percentage of what you spend, typically between 1% and 4.5% for the kinds of products on this site, depending on the category. Amazon links on this site go straight to amazon.com with our tag (allsetlist-20) in the address. No shorteners, no redirects.
other stores
We also link to Target, REI, Sephora and other stores. Some of those links don't earn us anything yet. We include them because that's where the product is sold, or where it's the better buy.
what commissions never decide
- Which products make a list, or what order they're in.
- Which tier a product is in, or what we say about its drawbacks.
- Whether we tell you to skip something. Some lists say "you don't need this" for things we could earn on.
when Amazon isn't the best buy
If a product is a store's own brand (like Target's Threshold sheets) or easier to get elsewhere, we link to that store, even when that link doesn't pay us.
no paid placements
Brands can't pay to be on a list. If that ever changes for a specific page, it'll say so at the top in plain words.
