This list is for the friend, sibling or partner who already has a board and boots and rides whenever the lifts are open.

It skips the starter kit (that is our snowboard checklist) and focuses on things that make days on snow safer, warmer and easier to pack. I pulled every pick from published gift guides at Reviewed (USA Today Network), OnTheSnow, The Inertia and Finding Dulcinea, and I only kept products one of them actually named. I show price bands instead of exact prices, so check the current one before you buy. Tip: ask what size they wear for helmets, gloves and socks, or pick the ones that need no size, like a tuning kit, a wax or a boot dryer.

Who this is not for. Skip this if the person is brand new to snowboarding; our snowboard starter checklist covers the basic kit.

Questions people ask

What is a good gift for a snowboarder who has everything?

Look at the small upgrades they put off buying: warm socks, a boot dryer, a good beanie or a wax they can rub on without an iron. The guides I read, like OnTheSnow and The Inertia, list several of these.

Do I need to know their size?

For helmets, gloves, mittens, socks and base layers, yes. Tuning kits, wax, goggle covers and the boot dryer do not need a size, so they are easier to buy without asking.

Is this list for skiers too?

Most of these work for both, since several guides cover skiers and snowboarders together. The tuning kits and boot bags are especially easy to share.

Where is the starter kit?

If the person is just getting into snowboarding, use our snowboard starter checklist instead. This list assumes they already own a board, boots and bindings.

When should I order so it arrives by Christmas?

USPS's recommended last send dates for December 25 in the contiguous US are December 17 for Ground Advantage, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express. Retailers set their own order-by dates, so check at checkout.
